When the Phantom fighter bombers attacked their targets in the depth of Iraqi territory, they faced numerous sites of Roland and Surface-to-Air Missiles and fire of the anti-aircraft guns. After bombing the target. They faced yet another problem, the Iraqi interceptor fighters. They chased them on their way back home. The Phantoms' hope was the birds that waited near the border to save them form their chasers. The birds were called F-14.

It's the story of the few men who have to operate their F-14s without proper equipment. Challenging the ants, vector their aircraft into erock's worst nightmare.

"No country had the Phantom at the time we bought them. It had flown in the Vietnam War, and had almost proved itself. With that aircraft, we could both attack the depth of the enemy territory and support our ground forces. So, we both provided backup fire and did strategic operations. Phantom was nicknamed 'generous' by the pilots."

September 21st 1980, Iraq wages a war on Iran by lunching a huge offensive. As the Iranian army was not well prepared, the Iranian Air Force becomes the main defender against Iraq's invasion. By flying low, the Phantom and F-5 aircraft of the Air Force attacked the columns of the Iraqi tanks and armored vehicles, and slowed down theirs advances. The army finds the time to position its units on the border. Defense lines are secured on the front line.
An Iranian Infantryman:
"We've had necessary trainings and we'll resist till our last drop of blood."

The Iraqi army can not advance now. The Iraqis offensives stopped at the entrance of Ahwaz, Abadan and Susangrd. However, this achievement has cost the Air Force dearly. Several Air Force's aircraft had been shot down by the fire of the anti-air defense of the Iraqi army. The Air Force loses some of its pilots. When regaining the occupied region starts, the Air Force changes its strategy in using the Phantoms. The Lind colonel Badam Hooshyal the van operation deputy of the Air Force, propose a plan that some Phantoms fly at very high altitude, and release their bombs together form that altitude towards the places the Iraqi soldiers and equipments are positioned. In addition to destroy Iraqi facilities, a carpet of bombs will have devastating effect on them around.
